Single Art Deco Brass Door Pull NO LOCK COVER 1931-2005 from the Philadelphia Civic Center aka Philadelphia Convention Hall & Municipal Auditorium Built 1931 Demolished 2005
WOW if these pieces could talk! The Philadelphia Civic Center building once played host to some major events including national political conventions in 1936, 1940, and 1948. Even Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a speech to a crowd here. In the years before the Spectrum was constructed the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Grateful Dead and Philadelphia Mummers all performed here to crowded audiences in the 1960's. The site also played host to the Philadelphia Warriors from 1952–1962 and during this period the 1960 NBA All-Star Game was held in the building. After the Philadelphia Warriors moved to California the Philadelphia 76ers also utilized this well known space for a few years. Clearly these Corbin 14 x 3 inch Art Deco Brass Door Pulls saw much in their service from 1931 until they were salvaged in 2005 when the building was demolished.
