Own a piece of mineralogical history! Small quartz needles on matrix from Mexico. Undated, but we strongly suspect 19th century.
The Academy of Natural Science's mineral collection was quite possibly America's finest during the 19th century. In 2006, the institution sold more than 18,000 specimens to a private dealer for $1 million. This specimen was likely part of that sale.
The specimen measures roughly 12.5cm x 7.5cm (5 in x 3.5 in) The box and two labels are included.
